.NAME Domains

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain extension is the only one supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to acquire john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken 3rd-level names remained running.

You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer code from the current domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no particular rules on who can register a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
